The Corgi Mission

We aim to maintain our position as the number one brand for high quality socks with exciting designs made from superb yarns, the best way possible. We aim to be globally recognised as a top-quality UK manufacturer known for our eco-friendly approach to packaging, growth and sustainability.

We strive to expand existing markets yet keep our green environmental practices at the forefront.

As Royal Warrant holders we are grateful for the support of HRH The Prince of Wales in achieving our environmental goals.

Sustainability and environmental issues are handled directly by the joint Managing Directors, Chris Jones and Lisa Wood, and are integral to every process and decision made in the business.

Our factory building is home to both hand operated and electric powered machinery. We are proud to say that all our energy is from a 100% renewable source. We seek to minimize the environmental impacts of all elements of our business from sourcing to production to marketingto packaging and shipping.

Good Yarns

Demand from consumers worldwide for quality knitted accessories fits neatly with the need to utilize renewable natural resources (such as cotton, wool and cashmere yarn), rather than deplete finite ones. It also provides essential employment and capital for both third world and developed economies.

Almost all the yarns we use are natural fibres such as cotton, wool and cashmere. We always purchase these from high quality manufacturers based in either the UK or Italy. Where we use nylon in some processes, this is sourced from within the UK.

All yarn waste is stored and collected by a local charity for distribution to clubs, schools and charities for use in art projects etc. All plastic, cardboard and paper waste is collected by a local recycling company, with the result we send zero waste to landfill.

Good Processes

By investing in new machinery, we aim to increase efficiencies and reduce environmental impacts. For example, as part of our final finishing process our socks are washed and pressed. Our new pressurised steam washing machine cuts our previous machine wash time of 20 minutes down to 2 minutes.

This increases our output and efficiency, reduces time and costs, and most importantly saves energy and water.
