We are very proud to reveal that Corgi socks were among an array of wonderful Welsh products and produce included in the NATO Wales gift baskets given to world leaders in attendance at the NATO Summit at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport today.

The baskets were designed to showcase the very best of Wales’ products and character to the Summit’s visitor, including US President Barack Obama, and included contributions from 25 Welsh businesses and makers in total.

A note from the Prime Minister David Cameron inside the gift basket read:

“During this summit you will see many examples of Wales’ strong defence and aerospace sectors. Here are some fine examples of its strong heritage in craftsmanship and food too.

From the poems of Dylan Thomas and the craftsmanship of the Royal Mint to produce being made today in Wales, I hope you will enjoy each of these gifts and be inspired by them to find out about all that Wales has to offer”.

Each of the leaders was treated to a pair of our pure cotton socks, gift-wrapped in our special Corgi packaging, as seen below.

It was a true honour for Corgi to play a small part in this prestigious event and we are very pleased to have been able to help showcase the best of Wales to the rest of the world.
