Inside our South Wales workshop, where every pair tells a story of skill, care, and sustainability.

When you pull on a pair of our socks, you’re stepping into something more than just everyday comfort—you’re stepping into a legacy of craftsmanship. We often get asked what makes our socks different. The answer? It’s all in the process. And today, we’d like to take you behind the seams.

It All Begins with Design

Every sock starts as a sketch—crafted to balance functionality with timeless appeal. Our design team works closely with our makers, blending style with practicality. From thoughtful colour palettes to reinforced stress points, every detail is considered.

But design is more than aesthetics. We source premium, sustainable yarns—think soft Merino wool, organic cotton and Cashmere.

Knitted with Care, Not Speed

Our workshop in South Wales is filled with the quiet clack of vintage knitting machines, some of which have been in use for decades alongside some more modern machinery. But even these aren’t high-speed mass-production units. They require hands-on care, regular tuning, and a deep understanding of the craft.

That’s where our team comes in. Many of our knitters have been with us for years—some are second or third-generation makers. They know exactly how to coax the perfect tension from a machine, how to spot a flaw before it becomes a fault, and how to make socks that last.

The Finishing Touch: By Hand, Always

After the socks are knitted, they move to hand-finishing. This is where precision matters most. Toes are closed using a seamless technique that prevents irritation. Each pair is gently steamed, shaped, and carefully checked—one by one.

No shortcuts. No skipping steps. Just careful hands doing what they do best.

Sustainability is Woven In

We believe that good things should also be good for the earth. That’s why we’ve built sustainability into every stage of our process. We minimise waste yarn, use renewable energy in our workshop, and ensure all packaging is recyclable and plastic-free.

Making socks this way takes more time, but we think it's worth it—for the planet, for our customers, and for the generations of craftspeople who’ve brought us here.

Why We Share This

We think people have a right to know how the things they wear are made. Transparency matters. That’s why we’re proud to open our doors and show you every step—flaws, triumphs, and all.

Because what we make might be simple. But how we make it? That’s what sets us apart.
